Jimmy John’s “Catching a Flight”

I’ve always wondered how long it would be before we got the request “would a plane fit in the new stages?” Before the 2006 improvements, the doors to the former airplane hangers, now Stages 3 and 5, opened to 100 feet wide. To ensure the best sound isolation, we minimized the door openings to 20 feet–quite a difference.
Then the call came from a local UPM with an upcoming commercial that they needed to shoot in the interior of a plane! Bringing the plane into the stage in pieces, it spanned the width of the our green screen (87 feet!) and using that set, they shot this Jimmy John’s commercial. Being from California, I had never heard of Jimmy John’s but was craving it after watching all the takes.
Enjoy!
