State Bar of Texas Announces 2010 YouTube Video Contest

Deadline: April 1, 2010

The State Bar of Texas is asking Texans to create a 30-second video that answers one of two questions:
Why are lawyers important to our society?
How is the court system important to our society?

The contest offers three chances to win $500. The entry deadline is April 1, 2010.

“What if our state – and our country – had no lawyers? Or no judges? What would happen to our society?” asks State Bar of Texas President Roland K. Johnson. “We want to know what you think.”

Prizes will be awarded to individuals or groups in three categories:

  1. $500 scholarship for under 18
  2. $500 cash for 18 and over
  3. $500 cash for People’s Choice Award

Winners also will receive an expenses-paid trip to the awards presentation April 30 in Austin.
