My TFPF Story – Jim Stedman & PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

We’d submitted projects for several years with no luck. The TFPF grant was something we’d wanted to add to our list of filmmaking accomplishments. When we got the word, we were just happy to be included in the company of TFPF grant recipients (past and present).

My TFPF Story – Miguel Alvarez & VETERANS and MNEMOSYNE RISING

In 2006, the grant for VETERANS was the first I had ever received. It helped legitimize the project in my mind. In 2008, MNEMOSYNE RISING was such an ambitious project and finding out I received the grant was just a great relief that I wasn’t going to go broke.

My TFPF Story – Greg Pak & MOUSE

“Mouse” was a key moment in my career — it was the first film that I’d directed that really broke through to a large number of film festivals and television venues. It opened a number of doors for me, helping me meet people, festivals, and organizations that would end up being key partners in helping me get my feature film “Robot Stories” out into the world a few years later.

My TFPF Story – Susanne Mason & WRIT WRITER

To this day, I count the TFPF award as one of the most thrilling I’ve received because it was a tremendous vote of confidence by a panel that I respected highly, and a sign that what I proposed had value.

My TFPF Story – Spencer Parsons & I’LL COME RUNNING

The grant process for TFPF is very clear and yet rigorous, which tends to give one a great deal of confidence in applying for other grants.

My TFPF Story – John Bryant & LOVEolution

There really aren’t a lot of funding sources out there other than TFPF and raising your own money – it is a fairly unique and special program.
